In agreement with the General Directorate for the landscape, fine arts, architecture and contemporary art and the JHA - Association for the Circuit of Young Italian Artists, implemented DE.MO. project - supporting new designs for art shops and bookshops, and the international mobility of young Italian artists.

Objectives and Expected Results: The third edition of the DAB / Design Artshop and Bookshop in collaboration with the General Directorate for the landscape, fine arts, architecture and contemporary art and the Association GAI Young Italian Artists for the production of art and design will feature the sale of objects made by young Italian designers under the age of 35 in commercial areas of Italian museums. This initiative constitutes a useful test platform in order to experiment the production of quality items to be sold in museum bookshops, archaeological sites and Italian state monuments. This year, in addition to this innovative and original design project, destined largely for Italian contemporary art museums, DAB-cultural heritage objects will also feature products inspired by Italy’s ancient and modern national heritage.

Activities: Following the launch of a public call for artworks, 38 designers and artists were selected from 153 participants, and their works were featured the Galleria Civica of Modena. A second exhibition is currently being prepared to be featured in Castel Sant’Elmo in Naples on September 30th, 2011. Moreover, the Ctrlzak group has been awarded the Special MiBAC prize for having “developed an complex research project on the topic of cultural heritage and architectural history”.

Timing and progress: June 2010-December 2011
